Welcome Our New Doctors

To my valued patients,

I hope that the close of 2021 and the start of 2022 were filled with good cheer, health, and happiness. As a new year commences, I am excited to share some important news regarding our office and practice, beginning with the introduction of Dr. Michael J. Berzansky O.D. and Dr. Tara Baideme, O.D.

Drs. Berzansky and Baideme are both highly experienced optometrists who share my perspective on providing whole patient care. They are also a husband-and-wife duo who, coincidentally, are both graduates of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where I earned my Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1973. They are moving to the area from Hilton Head, SC with their two boys ages 10 and 11, and are looking forward to enjoying all that our community and region has to offer.

The arrival of Michael and Tara echoes my own experience 45 years ago when I joined the practice of Dr. Franklin Warren. Dr. Warren, a fixture in Woodbury after decades of service, was adamant that he turn over his practice to a doctor who not only shared his perspective on patient care, but also someone who was eager to put down roots in the community.

That story has now come full circle and I cannot think of a more fitting way to ease into retirement than by following in Dr. Warren’s footsteps. At a time when local physician run practices like ours are being acquired by large national corporations, Tara and Michael are true diamonds in the rough. They share my vision of operating a community-centered practice where they can take the time to truly know and care for their patients.

While I am eager to open the next chapter of my life – spending more time with my beautiful wife Anne, our five daughters and 14 grandchildren – the office transition will be a gradual process. Starting in early February, Drs. Baideme and Berzansky will begin providing daily patient care and assume responsibility for the office and the professional staff you’ve come to know and trust – operating under the new name Tribury Eye Care. I will remain on staff seeing patients until at least early August, consulting and supporting the transition during 2022.

I look forward to introducing you to Michael and Tara, and to introducing them to the community that welcomed me so warmly 45 years ago. If you have questions regarding this news, please do not hesitate to ask. Our entire team is committed to making this transition as seamless and successful as possible – and ensure that you feel informed and cared for in the process.

Words cannot express the gratitude and love I have for this community, my staff, and every patient I have had the privilege to meet and pleasure to serve. Your loyalty to our practice, your kindness, and your friendship has been a true blessing.

With deepest gratitude,
Dr. Kenneth L. Burke, O.D.
